NICO 101: Intro to Programming for Big Data
NICO 101: Intro to Programming for Big Data is a two-week intensive, pre-term course designed for students who have little to no previous experience with programming. Through interactive instruction and project-based work, we plan to teach you the basics of programming in Python and computational data analysis.
Intended primarily for undergraduate and graduate students. Postdoctoral students and staff must contact NICO before registering.

Data Science and Visualization Services and Support
Northwestern IT Research Computing Services employs specialists in data science, visualization, and programming skills who are available to answer questions, collaborate on projects, and provide training. Talk to a consultant, participate in a working group, or take advantage of workshops on topics including high performance computing, command line, version control, Python, R, data visualization, data storage, databases, and more. Workshops are offered on both the Evanston and Chicago campuses.
Data Science Nights
Data Science Nights are monthly talks on data science techniques or applications, organized by Northwestern University graduate students and scholars and sponsored by NICO. Aspiring, beginning, and advanced data scientists are welcome!
